Direcţiile principale de activitate ştiinţifică ale Laboratorului:

  • Fizica şi tehnologia materialelor semiconductoare de tipul IV-VI şi V-VI, materialele oxidice (manganite şi altele): stări electronice topologice de interfaţă, interacţiune spin orbitală puternică; cuantificare dimensională la scară relativ mare; stări de impurităţi de rezonanţă; efectele de proximitate şi de coexistenţă a diferitor ordonări (orbitale, magnetice, feroelectrice);

  • Fenomene de transport, proprietăţi fotoelectrice, optice;

  • Sensori de IR;

  • Materiale nanostructurate, compozite noi pentru electronică, spintronică, optoelectronică şi fotonicăşi funcţionalizarea lor sub aspect de luminiscenţă şi alte atribuţii pentru aplicaţii în medicină, biologie, mediu;

  • Compoziţii pirotehnice folosite pentru influenţa activă asupra proceselor atmosferice.
