Abstract:

During the submitted project there will be carried out various studies and experimental elaborations in the field of modern technologies that have as final purpose the development of medical devices for use in modern medical field.

Because of the alarmingly increasing number of permanent change of pathogenic microorganisms under the influence of medical treatments- so called chemo resistance problem- it is necessary to develop new strategies to combat infectious disease cause.  Bactericidal photo therapy consists of using bactericidal ultraviolet ray to crush the unspecific flora that inhabits the wounds on the body surface or the internal affected areas. It is proposed to develop a bactericidal photo-therapy device that has an ultraviolet LED with radiation in the wavelength 255 nm which is placed in a optical guide to be transported anywhere needed.

Hypothermia for therapeutic purposes is used for its cooling effect on certain areas of the patient's body, in order to  reduce the risk of ischemic tissue injury following a period of inadequate blood supply. It is proposed for developing hypothermia head device built on Peltier elements.

Recently a special method obtained amazing non-invasive results with laser rays. In the case of therapy with low level laser therapy (L.L.L.T.) the tissues are not being warmed up, nor injured, the laser increases cellular metabolism.  Red and infrared radiation penetrated deep tissues, where light energy is absorbed and transformed into biochemical energy. By increasing cellular energy in the treated area, low energy laser therapy promotes healing, reduces inflammation and pain without harmful side effects. Because laser therapy is very effective in the treatment of complex neurological diseases, neuralgia and neuritis will develop a physiotherapy consisting of command and control block that contains the data of various patients and different types of probes with different number of beams and powers. To achieve the wanted therapeutic effect, there will be used laser diodes and ultra-luminous diodes from the visible and infrared region with adjustable regimes within very wide limits.
